# LibreOffice LibreOffice is the global standard for Open-Source Office Software. It is a cross-platform suite of software containing the following applications: - Writer - Document creation and editing. Similar to Word. - Calc - Spreadsheet work, similar to Excel. - Impress - Designing Presentations, similar to Powerpoint. - Draw - Diagram designer, similar to Visio, but also good for editing PDFs. - Base - Database frontend, similar to Access, can interact with an number of the most popular databases engines. - Few others such a formula or chart designers, which are also integrated into other LibreOffice apps. ## Install LibreOffice is installed by default on many distribution. If it isn't you can probably use your system's graphical software manager to install it.
